Archtectural Harmony with Tate Studio and Ownby Designs
Tucked into the rugged beauty of the Sonoran Desert, this luxury residence is a masterclass in architectural harmony, where form, function, and nature converge.
Designed by the visionary team at Tate Studio Architects and brought to life with Ownby Design, this Scottsdale home is an immersive experience in contemporary desert living.
Our landscape design anchors the property in its environment, elevating the visual narrative.
Every plant placement complements the home’s architecture while framing views of the surrounding mountains and sky. The transition between indoors and outdoors is virtually imperceptible — a design intention carried through the glass walls and expansive windows envisioned by Tate Studio.
Whether you’re admiring the landscape through the bedroom’s glass walls or stepping out onto the sleek patio lounge, the desert is always present. High Desert Designs ensured that views from every room are met with carefully framed vistas, turning each window into a living painting, a signature of designer Chad Norris.
The front entrance — complete with a fire feature and custom water sculpture — becomes a destination of its own. Here, native plants soften architectural edges, while linear design elements keep the space modern and serene. It’s a thoughtful balance of wild and controlled — a concept that is echoed throughout the entire home.
One of High Desert Designs’ signature strengths is the ability to make complex compositions feel effortless. In this project, restraint becomes luxury. There is no excess — just well-placed plantings, bold yet minimal hardscapes, and a sense of flow that respects the desert’s natural rhythms.
This collaboration results in a unified vision where architecture, interiors, and landscape operate as one cohesive whole.
